Shebani Kulkarni
Cultural Curator · Wellness Educator · Philanthropist
Shebani Kulkarni is an entrepreneur, cultural curator, wellness educator, and philanthropist whose professional journey has consistently brought together business, creativity, mindfulness, and community service.
Her work in Chicago's cultural landscape began with Dhrishti, which she co-founded with Madan Kulkarni in 2001. Dhrishti was created to present thoughtfully conceived, theme-based experiences incorporating music, performing arts, fine art, and literature. Over the years, Shebani has helped curate, host, and narrate major concerts and multicultural productions, introducing Chicago audiences to distinguished artists while creating opportunities for communities to experience culture beyond traditional boundaries.
As a co-founder of The Meadows Club, Shebani helped shape a hospitality and convention destination recognized for hosting weddings, concerts, charitable programs, corporate gatherings, and multicultural celebrations. She later became a co-founder and executive leader of The Matrix Club, an expansive cultural and events destination integrating hospitality with theater, visual arts, music, dance, and wellness.
Shebani also founded and served as president of EQuest Global Group, through which she developed programs encouraging cross-cultural business relationships and women's professional advancement. Her initiatives included collaborations with the National Association of Women Business Owners and conferences bringing together executives and entrepreneurs from diverse communities.
Wellness has remained central to her philosophy. Shebani is a Yoga Certification Board–certified instructor through the Government of India, a certified life coach, and an experienced mindfulness facilitator. Her teaching incorporates gentle Hatha yoga, meditation, breathwork, yogic philosophy, stress reduction, and mind-body awareness. She has also led professional sessions on mindfulness, inner connection, emotional balance, and purpose-driven living.
Following the loss of her daughter Meghna, Shebani co-founded Mission Meghna, a nonprofit carrying forward Meghna's compassion and commitment to service. The organization supports underserved children, girls, and women through education, skills training, mentorship, life coaching, food assistance, wellness resources, and partnerships with local and international charities.
Across every chapter of her journey, Shebani's work reflects a deeply held belief: that culture, wellness, enterprise, and compassion can come together to create stronger, more connected communities.
